This year the sun came out for us at the P5 & P4 Interclass Football Tournament held at Stewarts Melville College! The weather was in sharp contrast to the down pour last year, just as well for the Boot Fair and the teams! It was a great day, lots of children and parents and combined with our stalls and the boot fair pitches we raised over £1500! The winning Teams are pictured below and we really appreciate their support in taking up this challenge! We hope to see some of them again in September at the Sponsored Family Pedometer Challenge!

Aabsolute Self Storage have very kindly offered The Chesney Trust free storage space whilst they collect another shipment for Malawi. To have the use of a unit in a central location is a great asset as we are now collecting second hand resources from schools in Edinburgh. In particular the second hand school uniform from The Mary Erskine School and reading and arithmetic resorces from Victoria Primary School, Newhaven, Edinburgh have been stock piled in various garages and basements so to have all our next shipping in one place is a great help. Thanks go to Jamie Outhwaite and his great Team at Aabsolute Self Storage at Queenslie, Michelle and Karen!

The dance show, Kaleidoscope, was a feast of dancing and entertainment! From Modern to Tap, Tango to Salsa it was a wonderful display of talent! Hours and hours of practice went into the two nights performances and the girls can be truly proud of their acheivements! We hope to have some photos for you soon but we are delighted to tell you that the 2 evenings raised over £2,500 for the Trust and this money will contribute to the engine for The Maize Mill and get it up and running as soon as possible!
The building is finished but with no electricity as yet a diesel engine will run the generator and this will save the local women at present walking 10kms to grind their maize! The Mill will also provide an income towards the project and a full time paid job for a villager! Here you can see the finished building before the rainy season.

Stephanie Donaghey receives the donation from The Mary Erskine School. (Left to right Meryl Cooper, Creative Director and Organiser, Stephanie Donaghey, Mr David Gray, Principal ESMGC Schools and Phoebe Garratt, Dance Captain MES.

This was a tremendous achievement Joan! Many Congratulations and thank you for your support and to all her sponsors!
